The Santa Fe Stargazers held its second virtual meeting at 7 PM on 15 April 2020. Twelve members were in attendance. Sam Finn gave a presentation on comets, touching on their appearance nomenclature, origins, history in human culture, and prospects for brighter comets this year.
Following Sam’s presentation there was a short report by Albert Shultz, noting that a small group has been in contact with the International Dark Sky Association to form a New Mexico. That effort is in it infancy; so, beyond the report that discussions have begun there was nothing more to report.
Our next meeting, which will feature a presentation by Tom Aldern on observing planetary nebula, will be held at 7 PM on 20 May 2020.
