7 November 2021 — La Cueva, Glorieta (home)
Calm, temp around 40F, clear becoming partly cloudy. Set up and aligned C8 scope with ASI533 camera, 10:18 pm. Focused and tested connection.
Used GoTo with published coordinates for 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko (RA 7h 44.8m, Dec +26 37′). Easily visible in center of 35x FOV as fuzzy object; suggestion of a tail with averted vision. Photo shows tail around 10 arc-min long in 30s exposures.
This comet is in Gemini at around Magnitude 9, too faint for the unaided eye or my binoculars. As it moves NE it should remain visible for a few weeks with slight dimming.
I tried viewing a few other objects in northern sky, but clouds were increasing, so I ended the session around 11:15 pm.
