- Featured Presentation: “Astronomy Opportunities Along New Mexico’s Highway 60 Dark Sky Corridor.” Presenter John W. Briggs.
- John retired to Magdalena, New Mexico, after a career as an instrumentation engineer and educator working at many observatories across the country and internationally. Highway 60, from Magdalena to the Arizona border, is perhaps the latest of several regions in New Mexico seeing a flourishing new astronomical community. John will review this activity that includes interesting new private observatories, telescope hosting operations, new and expanded professional facilities, and the ongoing Enchanted Skies Star Party, now in its 31st year. John looks forward to sharing a well-illustrated presentation that will also feature his special interest in historical astronomy and related collections.
